On-line Identification of Language Measure Parameters for Discrete Event Supervisory Control

چکیده
The discrete-event system (DES) behavior of physical plants is often modelled as regular languages that can be realized by deterministic finite state automata (DFSA). The concept and construction of quantitative measures of regular languages have been recently reported in literature, and major applications of the language measure are: quantitative evaluation of the discrete-event dynamic behavior of unsupervised and supervised plants; and analysis and synthesis of optimal supervisory control algorithms in the discreteevent setting. This paper formulates and experimentally validates an on-line parameter identification procedure for the language measure based on a DFSA model of the physical plant. The recursive algorithm of this identification procedure relies on observed simulation and/or experimental data. Efficacy of the language parameter identification procedure is demonstrated for real-time supervisory control by experiments on a mobile robotic system.

Partial Observation in Distributed Supervisory Control of Discrete-Event Systems
Distributed supervisory control is a method to synthesize local controllers in discrete-eventsystems with a systematic observation of the plant. Some works were reported on extending this methodby which local controllers are constructed so that observation properties are preserved from monolithic todistributed supervisory control, in an up-down approach. In this paper, we find circumstances in ...
متن کاملA language measure for partially observed discrete event systems
Recent literature has introduced and validated a signed real measure of regular languages for quantitative analysis and synthesis of discrete-event supervisory (DES) control systems, where all events are assumed to be observable. This paper presents a modification of the language measure for supervisory control under partial observation and shows how to generalize the analysis when some of the ...

متن کاملOn-line tracing supervisory control of discrete-event dynamic systems based on outlooking
The conventional o!-line approach to supervisor synthesis for discrete-event dynamic systems contains critical drawbacks in building overall automata models and calculating the complete control policy for these models. To resolve the complexity of this o!-line approach, the supervisory control scheme based on limited lookahead control policies was proposed by Chung et al. and improved by Kumar ...
